The GR-30 will also allow you to use two tones to create a split patch. This means you can divide the guitar strings
into two different sounds. For instance, you could have B3 Organ assigned to strings 1 through 4, and an Upright Bass
to strings 5 and 6. Use the following procedure to create a Split Patch:
1)
Use the Patch [-] and [+] to call up patch E83 Rock Organ.
2)
Switch the PARAMETER SELECT to A.
3)
Switch the EDIT TARGET to 1st TONE.
4)
Press EDIT/PLAY.
5)
Use the PATCH [-] and [+] to select tone number 34 Jazz Organ.
6)
Switch the EDIT TARGET to 2nd Tone and use the PATCH [-] and [+] to select tone number 93.
7)
Switch the EDIT TARGET to TONE MIX.
8)
Turn the STRING SELECT knob to string number 6–5 and use the PATCH [-] and [+] button to select
[L-2] for the second of the two tones. This will layer the Upright Bass only on strings 5 and 6.
9)
Turn the STRING SELECT knob to string number 4. Follow the same procedure to layer the Jazz Organ to
strings 1-1, 2-1, and 3-1.
10)
Switch the PARAMETER SELECT dial to letter D and use the PATCH [-] and [+] to set the value to 0 which
will give you equal balance between the two tones.
11)
Switch the PARAMETER SELECT dial to WRITE TO and use the PATCH [-] and [+] to choose a location
such as A14.
12)
Switch the PARAMETER SELECT dial to WRITE PATCH and press the PATCH [-] and [+] simultaneously to
write the edited patch into memory.
13)
Play your guitar. You should hear Organ on strings 1-4, and Upright Bass on strings 5 and 6.
