Metal Inert Gas welding uses a gas supply to create an oxygen free shroud around the
weld area. A consumable wire is used to create the weld.
1.
Attach the wire onto the wire spool and feed the wire into the wire feed pipe.
2.
Adjust the thickness adjustment dial to the correct wire thickness.
3.
Set the wire feed speed on the front dial.
4.
Set the amps required based on the thickness of the metal to be welded. For the MIG-
150R, turn the dial to adjust the ampere output. For the MIG-135A, the two amp regulator
switches are used in conjunction as follows:
• 1 + Min = Low Output
• 1 + Max = Medium Output
• 2 + Min = High Output
• 2 + Max = Highest Output
5.
Set the wire feed speed regulator on the front dial.
6.
Plug in the unit to the mains power supply and turn the unit on.
7.
Turn on gas supply and set the flow rate.
8.
Press the trigger on the torch for several seconds until all air is drained from the system.
9.
Start your weld. Try to maintain a relatively constant tip-to-work distance and try to avoid
touching the gun tip on the weld surface.
Quick Start Guide - Welding
Be sure to use the correct safety equipment.
Keep loose clothing/hair free from the work area.
You must wear a welding mask to avoid permanent damage to your eyes.
Do not allow bystanders to look at the welding area without the use of a welding
mask.
During welding do not tamper with any plugs or cables, doing so may be life-
threatening and may severely damage the machine.
