Connecting the instrument to the network (LAN)
The R&S
SMM100A is equipped with a network interface and can be connected to an
Ethernet LAN (local area network).
There are two methods to establish a LAN connection to the instrument:

A non-dedicated network (Ethernet) connection from the instrument to an existing
network
●
A dedicated network connection (Point-to-point connection) between the instru-
ment and a single computer
For addressing, both the instrument and the computer require an IP address. The
address information is usually assigned to the devices automatically, see
ter 12.7.4, "How to assign the IP address"

How to enable access via LAN
Per default, the LAN interfaces on the instrument are enabled.
If they have been disabled because of security reasons, enable them as follows:
1. Select "Setup > Security > LAN Services > LAN Interface = On".
