3.3 Configuring the R&S SMM100A
This chapter provides step-by-step instructions to configure ARB Ethernet upload at
the R&S
SMM100A. These instructions cover the following topics:

"To enable ARB Ethernet upload" on page 15

"To connect to the QSFP+ network" on page 15
To enable ARB Ethernet upload
1. Select "Baseband > ARB".
2. Select "General > Mode > Ethernet Upload".
3. Select the "Ethernet Mode" as supported by the Ethernet network card of the host
PC:
● For 10 Gbit (optical or electrical), select "Ethernet Mode" > 10 GbE.
● For 40 Gbit (optical), select "Ethernet Mode" > 40 GbE.
To connect to the QSFP+ network
The R&S SMM100A is configured for ARB Ethernet upload as described in "To enable
ARB Ethernet upload" on page 15. The ARB state is deactivated ("State" > "Off").
1. Select "Local QSFP Network Settings".
2. Configure QFSP network parameters as needed. In particular, specify "IP
Address", "Subnet Mask", "IP Address" and "UDP Port".
The figure below shows a valid configuration expecting a 40 Gbit Ethernet connec-
tion between host PC and an R&S
SMW.
Configuration of the QSFP+ network settings of the R&S SMM100A is analogous.
