How to Create and Access Data and Control Lists
The general principle for accessing files with user data is described in
on page 487. Detailed and further information on how to create
and access files with user data like data lists and control lists is provided in the follow-
ing sections:
●
Chapter 3.5.4.2, "How to Create and Assign a Data List"
Overview of the possible ways and detailed description on how to create data lists.
●
Chapter 3.5.4.1, "How to Create and Assign a Control List"
Overview of the possible ways and detailed description on how to create control
lists.
●

Exporting Remote Command Lists
To set specific instrument settings or perform tasks automatically, you can create
scripts that contain the settings in the form of remote control command sequences.
The R&S
SMBV100B also offers an SCPI macro recorder with code generator that is
used to record manual settings and create an executable script, see
"How to Record / Create SCPI Lists"
Completed scripts are stored in files and possibly converted to different formats,
depending on the used language of the source code.
The R&S
SMBV100B supports the following commonly used languages:
●
Plain SCPI:
*.txt
●
MATLAB:
*.m
●
NICVI:
*.c
It is also possible to convert the SCPI command list to a user-specific language, see
Chapter 11.15, "How to Convert and Save SCPI Lists"

Loading, Importing and Exporting Lists
The R&S
SMBV100B provides built-in editors for creating list files, for example for the
list mode or lists with user correction data. You can also create or evaluate them with
an external application. The instrument provides interfaces with the following function-
ality:
●
Import and export list files in a standard ASCII format file
●
Load files with modulation and control information
●
Load of internally or externally generated waveform file
