2.3.4 Power Supply
The redundant power supply provides the system with power. It con-
sists of several independent power supply units. Even if one fails the
other will still offer enough power to keep the system working.
The following provides an overview of the power supply:

RS-422 1
DB-9 connector (female), serial RS-422 inter-
face for an out- or input of master/slave control
signals for video channel 1; its pin-out (master
or slave) will be switched by the software auto-
matically
RS-422 2
Same as ’RS-422 1’ but for video channel 2
RS-422 3
Same as ’RS-422 1’ but for video channel 3
RS-422 4
Same as ’RS-422 1’ but for video channel 4
Second power supply failure
The system can be operated with one power supply unit out of or-
der. However, if another one fails, a continued operation of the sys-
tem cannot be guaranteed.
It is recommended to change a failed power supply unit im-
mediately (see section “Power Supply Maintenance” on
page 5-15).
The state of the power supply units can be easily checked either with
their LEDs as explained below or with the general alarm LED (see sec-
tion “Operation Items” on page 2-8).
