7 Remote Control - Command Description
The description of each manual setting in Chapter 5, "Instrument Functions" ,
on page 195 also shows the associated remote command. The meaning of the param-
eter setting fields and the effect of the individual parameters are explained in detail. A
link to the command description including the parameters is provided for each setting.
In most cases, the parameters shown in the panels can be unambiguously assigned to
the parameters included in the remote control commands. For more complex selec-
tions or different names for manual and remote settings, the command is extended by
a parameter description.
Moreover, the SCPI recording function (see Chapter 6.7, "Command Recording" ,
on page 661 offers a very convenient means of recording manual settings, thus allow-
ing remote control commands to be assigned to the parameter fields in the panels.
Since the panels do not provide for any settings relating to the triggering of measure-
ments or reading of results, these functions are not recorded.
This chapter lists all commands. The sequence follows closly the sequence of the
description of the manual settings in
Chapter 5, "Instrument Functions" , on page 195.
In addition, the following commands are described:

Commands that are not available during manual operation and thus cannot be
recorded, such as common commands, triggering and output of measurement val-
ues
●
Commands for using the system, mass memory and status system
●
Commands that can only be carried out by using the softkey menu, and thus can
also not be recorded.
An alphabetical list at the end of the user documentation offers an overview of all
implemented commands.
In Chapter 6, "Remote Control - Fundamentals" , on page 638 you will find a general
introduction to remote control as well as a description of the status registers.
