3. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port of the instrument and wait for ten sec-

onds.

4. Press [Menu] key.

The R&S NGA100 displays the main menu of the instrument. See 

Chapter 5.2.3,

"Menu Key"

on page 34.

5. Select "Utilities" > "Update" menu item.

If firmware file is found, the R&S NGA100 displays the "Update" dialog. See 

Fig-

ure 6-25

6. Press [Enter] key to start firmware update process.

The R&S NGA100 reboots automatically as part of the update process.

7. Alternatively, you can press [Back] key to cancel the firmware update process.

8. Wait for the completion of the update process.

It takes a few minutes to complete the firmware update process.

Firmware update via SCPI command

1. Download the firmware file from the product homepage.

2. Copy the firmware to the root directory of a USB flash drive.

3. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB port of the instrument and wait for ten sec-

onds.

4. Connect to the instrument via 

USB

LAN

 or 

WLAN

.

5. Send 

DIAGnostic:SERVice:FWUP "/FRONT_USB/NGA1xx"

 to start firmware

update remotely.
The R&S NGA100 reboots automatically as part of the update process.

6. Wait for the completion of the update process.

It takes a few minutes to complete the firmware update process.
