Mobile Country Code
Specifies the Mobile Country Code (MCC) which is used to set up the connection to
the MS. If an MS is registered this parameter is updated automatically to the MCC of
the registered MS. Afterwards when the MS is unregistered the R&S
CMW keeps the
last information. The parameter could be edit by the user or will be updated automati-
cally when an MS with another MCC is registered. The MCC consists of 3 numerical
characters (0-9). It is a part of the IMSI for identifying a mobile subscriber.

Mobile ID
Sets mobile ID parameters.
PLCM Derivation ← Mobile ID
Defines how the MS generates its Public Long Code Mask (PLCM). The PLCM is used
to form the public long code. The mask contains a permutation of the bits of the mobile
station’s ESN or a particular mask specified by the BS.
"ESN Only"
The Electronic Serial Number (ESN) is used to generate the long
code mask of the R&S
CMW. That means the mask contains a per-
mutation of the bits of the MS ESN.
"MEID Prefer-
red"
The Mobile Equipment Identifier (MEID) is used for the public long
code mask.

NMSI ← Mobile ID
Specifies the mobile ID of the MS which is used to set up the connection to the MS.
For some protocol revisions it is possible to choose either a MIN (Mobile Identification
Number) or NMSI (National Mobile Subscriber Identity) as mobile ID. For other protocol
revisions, a choice of the mobile ID is not available.
To enter a mobile ID is optional. However, together with the
these parameters provide the necessary information for the R&S
CMW so that the
"Connect 1st SO" softkey (see chapter
can be used without waiting for registration.
If an MS is registered this parameter is updated automatically to the mobile ID of the
registered MS. Afterwards when the MS is unregistered the R&S
CMW keeps the last
information. The parameter could be edit by the user or will be updated automatically
when another MS is registered.
The NMSI consists of up to 12 numerical characters (0-9). It is a part of the IMSI for
identifying the mobile subscriber within a home country.
The NMSI consists of:
●
MNC: 2- or 3-digit mobile network code
