CE Certification
The BCs ROFOS described in this manual have been tested for type, tested and certified by 0474 RINA in Genoa (Italy)
in accordance with EN 250 Directive 89/686/EEC as of December 21, 1989 as harness for SCUBA (category III) and in
accordance with EN 1809 Directive 89/896/EEC as buoyancy vest (category II).
The test procedures were performed according to EN 250 in accordance with the directive laying down the conditions
for placing on the market and the essential safety requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
The purpose of the requirements and tests specified in EN 250 is to ensure a minimum level of safe operation of
underwater breathing apparatus SCUBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus UNDERWATER) to a maximum depth of
50 meters.
The standard EN 1809 is to verify the minimum safety and performance of inflatable jackets. The buoyancy vest is not
intended to guarantee a position on the surface head-on in case of unconsciousness or inability of the diver.
The following instructions should be integrated with those for other components your SCUBA equipment (group
assembled bottle). Before you use your tank group assembled read all the instructions for use contained in the related
manuals.
This jacket can be used with water temperature between 0° and 40° C.
On jacket it is sewn a label with following informations: name and logo of the manufacturer, model name, maximum
tank size, year of production, maximum lift, European law CE EN 1809.
IMPORTANT
Read instructions carefully. This is not a safety jacket: does not guarantee a head up position of the wearer at the
surface.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The user must have successfully completed a course of training in SCUBA diving, buoyancy control, and emergency
buoyancy skills. This instruction should be from a certified SCUBA instructor of a recognized educational organization.
Review this manual periodically. Improper use or misuse of the jacket could result in serious injury or death.
This owner’s manual is NOT a substitute for instructions by a qualified instructor.
WARNING
Improper use or misuse of this jacket could result in loss of buoyancy control, including uncontrolled descents and
uncontrolled rapid ascents, resulting in drowning, decompression sickness, or air embolism, either of which can result
in serious injury or death.
This BC is not a breathing device. Never breathe from the BC. Your BC may contain gas residue, liquid, or contamination
that may result in injury or death if inhaled.
OPERATING ISTRUCTIONS
WARNING
Read the following instructions carefully as on them may depend your safety and durability of your equipment.
The primary purpose of a Buoyancy Compensator is to make your diving more comfortable by enabling you to main
-
tain neutral buoyancy at depth.
Prior to diving in open water conditions, practice using your B/C in a swimming pool. Use all gear that you would
normally use in an open water dive.
First of all, adjust the waist belt and backpack to fit your body shape. A correct adjustment helps ensure optimal
comfort and stability.
Inhale deeply to close and tighten the straps on the shoulders, chest and waist, making the jacket adhere well to the
body, being careful to allow easy movement or not cause any feeling of suffocation.
BOTTLES MOUNTING
Slide the straps over your tank and tighten at desired position in relation to the cylinder’s valve.
Close the eccentric buckle.
WARNING
Wet the webbing of the cylinder strap prior to tightening to prevent slippage resulting in a loosening of the bottle.
Connect the hose to a LP exit on your octopus.
