To avoid serious injury, always unplug

your router before installing or changing router bits.

2.  Following the instructions that came with your router,

securely install the router bit. Lower the bit, if necessary,

to allow installation of the Insert Ring (3).

3.  Install the Insert Ring (3) by fitting it, flat side up, in the center

opening of the Baseplate assembly and rotating it to align the

mounting holes. Secure the Insert Ring to the Baseplate

assembly with the three #6-32 x 1/4" Flathead Screws (5).

Using the Baseplate for Handheld Routing

1.  Remove the two 5/16"-18 x 1" Flat-Head Screws securing

the Baseplate (1) assembly to the Convertible Benchtop

  Router Table.

2.  Lift your router out of the router table.

3.  Use your router as you would with the factory-issue

baseplate. The square edge of the Midsize Baseplate

provides a stable reference for applications involving

  use of a straightedge guide.

Using the Starter Pin

Use of a Starter Pin is required when you’re not using the fence

on your router table to feed your workpiece into the bit. Stock is

most vulnerable to catching and being thrown at the beginning

of the cut, before it engages the router bit’s guide bearing.

Thread the Starter Pin (4) into the mounting hole in the Midsize

Baseplate. Then use the starting pin as a fulcrum to feed your

workpiece into the bit.

Fig. 8. Be sure the pin is screwed in

tightly before use. When not in use, the Starter Pin can be stored

by threading it into the dedicated hole in the Aluminum Fence of

your Convertible Benchtop Router Table.

>  If attempting to rout a workpiece without using the

router table fence, always use the included Starter

Pin (4) to begin the cut. Failure to do so could result

in dangerous workpiece kickback and serious injury.

>  Use the Starter Pin (4) ONLY with bearing-guided

router bits. Use with other bits could result in

  serious injury.

THESE WARNINGS PERTAIN

TO ALL REMAINING STEPS:

> To avoid serious injury, keep hands

  and fingers away from spinning

  router bit. Maintain awareness of

  the bit at all times.

Additional Insert Rings with openings of

different sizes also are available for purchase.

>  Never use your table-mounted router without an

Insert Ring installed. Failure to use an Insert Ring

could allow your workpiece to become trapped,

potentially resulting in dangerous kickback and

  serious injury.
