Step 6 Install the wall plate to a wood stud wall
Note:
Any material (such as sheetrock) covering the wall must not exceed 5/8" (16 mm).

Locate the studs. Verify the center of the stud with an edge-to-edge stud finder.

At the wall height you determined in the previous step, align the wall plate (

) against the wall and make
sure that it is level. Use a pencil to mark the screw hole locations, then remove the wall plate.
Note:
Your TV shifts left or right 7" (17.78 cm) from the home position to full extension.

Drill pilot holes to a depth of 3" using a 7/32" diameter drill bit.

Align the wall plate (

) with the pilot holes, then place the washers (
U
) over the holes in the wall plate (
E
).
Insert the lag bolts (
V
) through the washers, then tighten the lag bolts only until the washers (
U
) are pulled
firmly against the wall plate.
Caution:
Avoid potential injuries or property damage! DO NOT over-tighten the lag bolts (
V
).
