Using the [Maintenance] screen, the operator can perform general
maintenance tasks, such as washing the liquid handling system, exchanging
the URISYS 2400 cassette, resetting the analyzer, and removing air bubbles.
Maintenance procedures are only possible when the analyzer is in Stand-By
status.
Wash the liquid handling system
Clean the liquid handling system (sample needle, flow cell, and internal
tubing) every day, before the analyzer is switched off. Use a recommended
washing solution, for example, MultiClean, and the “Wash” procedure of the
analyzer to prevent contamination and urinary deposits in the liquid handling
system. Change the washing solution daily.
There are two methods for executing the wash procedure:
o
Use the wash rack on the rack input line.
o
Use the washing solution at the STAT position.
a
To use the wash rack on the input line
1
Register the wash rack ID number to be used for the wash procedure.
2
Place a sample tube containing 10 ml of washing solution at position 1 of
the registered rack, and set the rack on the rack input line.
3
If the analyzer is in Operation status, the rack is automatically transferred
to the cross-feed line and its barcode recognized by the barcode reader; the
wash procedure is then performed.
4
If the analyzer is in Sampling Stop or Stand-By status, press <Start> to feed
the wash rack.
5
When the wash procedure is complete, the analyzer moves to Stand-By
status. Remove the wash rack from the rack output line and dispose of the
washing solution.
After a washing procedure, the instrument must be re-started manually by
pressing <Start> in the [Routine Monitor] screen.
“Register the wash rack” on page B-27
Do not use the registered wash rack for routine or control samples.
If the washing cycle is interrupted, carry out the wash procedure again from the
beginning. Otherwise, the remaining detergent in the flow path may damage the
instrument or cause incorrect data.
When the <Stop> button on the [Routine Monitor] screen is pressed during the
wash procedure, a [Warning] window alerts the operator to the risks of interrupting
the washing process.
