*Length of Protected Recording can vary between 30 seconds and 2 minutes depending on the complexity of the scene.
Tips & Tricks
•
If your cigarette lighter socket does not
automatically power down when the
engine is turned off, we recommend that
you disconnect the Driver Recorder from
the power source when the vehicle is left
overnight or for any length of time.
•
In the unlikely event of a camera lock-up,
there is a small reset button on the top of
the camera. The camera may also be reset
to factory defaults using the menus.
•
You can preserve the integrity of the Micro
SD Card by regularly formatting it in the
Drive Recorder.
•
The recommended resolution for the P102
is Full HD (1920 x 1080p) left to continually
record with automatic record overwrite. The
SD Card capacity varies with the amount of
detail in any one scene but at this resolution
a 32GB SD Card will store just over 10
hours worth of recordings.
•
Much more can be stored if a lower
resolution is selected such as 1280 x 720p
is set. The results are still very acceptable
and over 14 hours of recordings are
possible on the same 32GB SD Card..
•
It is a good idea to store as many
recordings as you can in case you need
them in the future – for example if you want
to dispute a speed camera etc… One way
to do this is to use several 32GB SD Cards
numbering them 1,2,3 etc… or Mon, Tues,
Wed etc… These can then be copied to
your PC for safe keeping.
Transferring Data to a PC or Mac
•
The best way to transfer data to a computer
is to remove the Micro SD Card and insert
it into the appropriate slot in your computer.
If your computer does not have a Micro SD
Card slot, then a USB adapter is available
from RoadPixel.
•
Alternatively, the camera may be connected
directly to a computer using a USB cable.
•
If you want to save, view or share the video
(and sound) data, then the recordings are in
a standard MOV format and can be played
with many video players such as Windows
Media Player™ or Windows Live Movie
Maker™, provided that the appropriate
Codecs are present on your PC (such as
the ones in the K-Lite Codec pack).
