Replacing Components of the Sample-Draw Detector
This section includes procedures to replace the plug-in sensor, the detector housing body, the
amplifier, the charcoal filter, the hydrophobic filter, and the particle filter.
Replacing the CO Plug-In Sensor
1. Turn off the controller.
2. Turn off power to the controller.
3. Open the housing door of the sample-draw detector.
4. Remove the detector terminal strip from its socket on the amplifier.
5. Unscrew the detector from the flow block.
6. Unplug and remove the plug-in sensor with the rubber boot and spacer attached.
7. Remove the rubber boot and spacer from the old sensor.
8. Install the rubber boot with spacer onto the replacement sensor’s face.
9. Carefully plug the replacement sensor into the four-socket pattern that is located in the detector
housing body.
10. Screw the detector back into the flow block.
11. Reinstall the detector terminal strip into its socket on the amplifier.
12. Close and latch the housing door.
13. Turn on power to the controller.
14. Turn on the controller.
15. Allow the sample-draw detector to warmup for 5 minutes.
16. Calibrate the replacement sensor as described in “Calibration” on page 24.
Replacing the CO Detector Housing Body
NOTE:
In most cases, it is not necessary to replace the detector housing body.
1. Turn off the controller.
2. Turn off power to the controller.
3. Open the housing door of the sample-draw detector.
4. Remove the detector terminal strip from its socket on the amplifier.
5. Disconnect the detector leads from the detector terminal strip. Note the position of the color-
coded leads as you remove them.
6. Unscrew the old detector from the flow block.
7. Unplug and remove the plug-in sensor with the rubber boot and spacer attached.
8. Carefully plug the sensor into the four-socket pattern that is located in the new detector
housing body.
NOTE:
If installing a new plug-in sensor along with a new detector housing body, be sure to
move the rubber boot and spacer from the old plug-in sensor to the new plug-in sensor.
9. Screw the new detector housing body back into the flow block.
