7.2 Assembly
7.2.1 General information
•
Before installation, the corrosion protection at the shaft ends of linear units with drives must
be removed.
•
No cleaning agents may be allowed to enter the bearings.
•
When installing transmission elements such as clutches or motor adapters, blows to the shaft
ends or impacts to the drive pins must be avoided, in order to prevent the bearing becoming
damaged or imbalanced.
•
The linear unit must be secured on a level surface with a minimum accuracy of 0.20 mm/m
2
.
•
The linear unit must not be tensioned during installation.
•
Sufficient fixing points between the linear unit and the base must be chosen for the applica-
tion.
•
Loads to be moved by the linear unit must be correctly and adequately secured for the appli-
cation.
•
The high intrinsic weight of components and the linear unit generates dangers for persons
and property.
•
When installing a motor on the linear unit, take care to align the motor shaft and drive shaft
axially.
7.2.2 Tightening torques
Torque guideline values for metric shaft screws to DIN EN ISO 4762 at 90 percent use of the
0.2 % expansion limit, for a coefficient of friction of 0.14.
Pay attention to the information in the assembly instructions for the accessories. This contains in-
formation for installing your application.
