Select this option for originals that contain photos.
Using a commercially available red marker pen, draw
frames (pen frames) directly on the areas that you
want to separate on the original.
A range of 1 mm to 3 mm (3/64 inch to 1/8 inch) is
available for the pen width.
The original is separated into inside and outside of the
specified area.

not select [Auto] under [Contrast].

Ensure that the ends of the pen
frame are connected. If the ends
are not connected, the line is not
recognized as a pen frame.

Keep the line width of the pen
frame between 1 mm and 3 mm
(3/64 inches and 1/8 inches). If the
line width is less than 1 mm (3/64
inches) or greater than 3 mm (1/8
inches), the line is not recognized
as a pen frame.

If a frame is smaller than a 10 mm
× 10 mm (13/32 inches × 13/32
inches) square, the frame is not
recognized as a pen frame.
