As an example, you wish to purchase a Slimfire 25 flame fire, live in the ‘Cool’ zone,
and have an area to heat of 65m
2 . The recommended ‘Heats up to’ capacity for this
model is 68m 2 , however you also have no wall insulation and a house built on stumps.
The heat loss total percentage is -15% (-7% + -8% = -15%) which is deducted from
the 68m
2 (the capacity of your heater) as a % to reduce it to 58m 2 . This will no longer
heat your desired 65m 2 . The next model up is the Royale Manual Inbuilt with a ‘Heats
up to’ capacity of 93m 2 , less the 15% heat loss = 79m 2 , which will adequately heat
the area.
