Sweep
Press
Sweep
to enter the sweep setting menu. You can also tap the function keypad
to select Sweep. The menu sets sweep-related parameters, such as sweep time,
sweep points, and sweep time mode.
Sweep Points
Sets the number of points acquired in each sweep, i.g. the number of the trace
points.
The system will automatically calculate the number of sweep points based on the
values of Stop Distance, Span, and Velocity Factor. Once one of the parameters is
modified, the other parameters will be adjusted automatically to achieve optimal
measurement effects according to the formula below.
Sweep Point = 1 + Stop Distance * (span/1.5e8/Velocity Factor) (rounding up the
number)
Remarks:
⚫
In DTF, the
Sweep Points
menu is grayed out and disabled. You are not
allowed to set it. It will be set automatically according to the span and stop
distance.
⚫
With the increase of the sweep points, the frequency resolution of the marker
will increase with it, but the sweep speed will decrease with it.
⚫
Due to the limitation of the minimum interval of sweep points, when the number
of sweep points is increased, the sweep time will be prolonged.
⚫
Changing the number of the sweep points will affect multiple parameters of the
system. Therefore, the system will make a new sweep and measurement again.
