About Access Privileges
There are three types of privileges for RICOH e-Sharing Box: general user, administrator, and built-in
administrator.
General user
A general user can access the "AllUsers" folder and a personal folder. A general user can only
change his or her personal settings.
Administrator
An administrator can access the "AllUsers" folder and a personal folder. Administrators can change
personal settings of an administrator and the settings of the entire system.
When you access the machine for the first time after it is purchased, the initial setting screen
appears. Register the first administrator according to the on-screen instructions.
Built-in administrator (account name: admin)
This is the preset administrator account. The built-in administrator can change all of the settings on
the machine. The administrator can also access the "Backup" folder that holds data of deleted
users. However, the built-in administrator does not have privileges to access personal folders and
the "AllUsers" folder.
There is no preset password for the built-in administrator. When you access the machine for the first
time after it is purchased, the initial setting screen appears. Register a password for the built-in
administrator according to the on-screen instructions.
• Be sure to specify administrators' e-mail addresses. When an error occurs, the machine sends
notification e-mails to administrators' e-mail addresses. If administrators' e-mail addresses are not
specified, the machine management may be interrupted.
