Caution! The blades/spikes continue to rotate after the machine is switched off. Wait until
blades/spikes come to a complete stop before leaving the machine and before proceeding to any
intervention on the machine.
6- Clean and store the machine.
7- We recommend you follow the below tips.
5.3- Tips
WARNING!
- Never work while persons or animals are on or nearby the working area.
- Do not work on slopes with an angle greater than 15º.
1- Remove all foreign objects in the working area (e.g.: stones, branches, pipes...).
2- Operate the unit only when it is appropriate to do so. For example, do not work when it is
raining, on frozen ground or waterlogged.
3- Do NOT use the machine if temperature is below 0ºC or above 45ºC.
4- Walk, never run with the machine.
5- Do not work in circles. Travel back and forth across the lawn in parallel line and overlapping the
working rows (see Fig.12)
6- During operation, avoid motor overload or blocking. Pay attention to changes in motor sound,
when this occurs and motor speed drops, release the switch lever (1b) and adjust the working height
to allow blades/spikes rotating more easily and hence alleviate motor.
Failure to do so may result in damage to the product.
7- To turn the machine: press on guide bar handle so as to lower the centre of gravity to the rear
wheels, and then turn the machine.
8- If the blades/spikes touch a foreign objects, stop the machine immediately, and check the unit
with its blades stopped. Continue your work only if the machine has not been damaged.
9- When working on slopes always stand diagonally to the slope, through a strong and stable
position. Always stands across the slope, never up or down directly. Be especially careful when you
change direction. Do not work on very steep slopes.
10- When you go to areas without grass (e.g. to change the workplace, over a driveway, when
crossing gravelled area...), make sure the blades/spikes are stopped and do not touch the hard
surface.
11- To avoid tripping, use extreme caution when reversing or when pulling the machine towards
you.
12- Overload protection: in case of overload or blocking, the protective device will operate and
shuts down the motor automatically. Turn off the motor and let it cool down (for approx15min).
Then you may restart the machine.
Overload may be due to: a working height too low (re-adjust if necessary); a cutting speed too fast
(reduce your speed).
The blockage may be due to the presence of debris on the blades/spikes (clean blades/spikes) or
objects in the work area (e.g. remove the branches or other objects ...)
Be sure to change the fuse with a fuse of the same technical data (fuse: AC 250V, 12A)
13- Never pick up or carry product while the motor is running.
5.4- Scarification tips
With the scarifier cylinder, the machine can be used as a scarifier for removing matting and moss in
the lawn as well as for cutting flat-rooting ranks.
In order that a healthy lawn can develop in the spring, it is necessary that greater amounts of air
penetrate the area around the roots of the grass.
We recommend scarifying the lawn twice a year, e.g. in the Spring and in the Autumn.
To achieve good results and increase the lifetime of the scarifier cylinder, mow your lawn to a
shorter height (less than 4cm) before starting.
- Select the working depth depending upon the state of the lawn and the actual height of the grass.
- Tilt the scarifier backwards slightly so that both front wheels are off the ground.
- Switch the scarifier on, the scarifier cylinder starts rotation freely.
- Guide the scarifier at an appropriate speed in stripes as straight as possible across your lawn.
- Always guide the scarifier at an even speed depending on the type of ground. Remaining in one
