4.5- Bleed the air
Always open the air bleed valve before starting operating the log splitter.
Loosen the dipstick cap (3) by a few turns, so that air can
escape from the oil tank.
Always leave the cap opened during operation.
Tighten the cap (3) after finishing operation.
Close the cap before moving the machine otherwise oil
may leak.
Note: if the hydraulic system is not vented, the trapped air
will damage the seals and thus the log splitter.
4.6- Moving the Log Splitter
Before moving or transporting the log splitter, unplug it from the mains power supply.
Make sure the oil dipstick cap (3) is securely tightened
Make sure the oil drain screw is securely tightened.
Make sure the cylinder in brought downwards to transport position.
By hand
WARNING: The log splitter is very heavy, do NOT move by hand if you are not physically strong
enough, as a falling or tripping machine may cause considerable damage and severe injury!!
The log splitter is equipped with 2 wheels for minor moving.
To move the log splitter to the work area, grip the handle and slightly incline the log splitter backwards
until it tilts onto the wheels and thus can be moved.
The wheels are not intended to transport or tow the log splitter over long distance.
Do not tow on open road.
Do not use the log splitter to transport persons/animals or objects.
Moving with forklift truck / lifting carts:
The machine should be securely mounted on a pallet secured with steel tapes and protected by a plastic film.
To lift it off the pallet, several persons or technical resources are required.
Note: The centre of gravity of the log splitter is high – risk of tipping over!
