APPENDIX A DEPTH GATES AND HEAD TILT
A.1 Introduction
O
n the “Filters” menu, the “Head Tilt” option is used to identify a known offset
resulting from a port or starboard tilt in the sonar array mounting configuration.
The entry of the “Head Tilt” value is required to guarantee that the depth gates
will work properly.
A.2 Depth Gates
The depth gates, with no input from a motion sensor, will be oriented parallel to
the horizontal plane of the sonar array, as shown by the Min and MaxDepth lines
in
