3.3 Starting the 7k Control Center and Sonar
Once the system has been powered up, the 7k Control Center dialog appears.
1. Select the operating mode:
The 7k Control Center can operate the 7k Center and SeaBat display in real
sonar operating mode or in simulator mode:
o
Simulator mode: Select the Simulate check box. Operating in simulator
mode, where the system displays a flat seabed, can be useful during
the installation and setup stages. Note that the sonar head need not be
connected to operate in this mode.
o
Real sonar mode: If the Simulate check box is unchecked, the system
operates in real sonar mode.
2. Select the sonar head configuration:
If the sonar head has dual-head capability, the drop-down menu options are
Single Head and Dual Head. Otherwise, Single Head is the only option.
3. Select the sonar settings:
The Sonar settings drop-down menu includes all of the possible sonar head
configurations. This selection completes the configuration of the system to
be started.
