Position the drilling jig on the Velux VMS’s pillar. The stop block is located as high as possible
against the Velux finishing profile. Now, position the drilling jigs by loosening the star-shaped
clamping knob. Release or tighten them afterwards by using the brown plastic screw on the
side. Pay attention to the prescribed measurements. After determining the position of the drilling
jig, screw the plastic screw hand tight.
3.2 • Fitting the mounting bases
The holes for fitting the
mounting bases can be
drilled by using the drilling
jig. Use a stepped drill that
is included in the toolkit case
for drilling these holes. It will
allow you to drill carefully
through the VMS cladding
and profile.
I each case, start with the upper hole that needs to be drilled.
Drill as far as the stepped drill will go through the pre-drilled
holes in the drill jig. Hold the drilling jig firmly in place during
drilling. After drilling the first hole, you can use a plug. It will
ensure that the drilling jig will not move while working on the
other holes. After drilling the upper hole, go to the lowest hole.
Use a plug here too. Now you can drill the other holes with
ease.
