Getting Started

•  Switch on your computer and wait until the operating system has booted completely.
•  Connect the barcode scanner via the provided cable to a USB port on your computer. The barcode

scanner will then beep.

•  The computer will detect the new hardware and automatically install the required drivers.
•  Open the document on your computer where you want the barcodes to be recorded. The bar code data

(for example, an EAN number combination) will be inserted where the cursor is blinking (for example, a

field in a spreadsheet).

•  Position the reading unit at the front of the barcode scanner at an adequate distance and at a slight angle

to the barcode. Depending on the size and specification of the barcode, you may need to adjust the space

between reader and barcode individually.

•

The fixed-mount barcode scanner has an auto-sensing function. When you put a barcode in front of the

scanner, it will detect the change in brightness and automatically activate the scanning function.

•

If the reading process is successful, you will hear a beep & LED will flash briefly in green. The barcode is

then converted into the corresponding characters and transmitted to the computer.

Settings

A  sheet  with  barcodes  is  included. You  can  use  those  to  adjust  the  barcode  scanner  to  your  scope  of

application. To configure the barcode scanner simply scan the respective barcode.

The barcode scanner can be reset to the default settings by scanning a special barcode, if necessary.

Tips & Hints

•  The characters read by the barcode scanner are transmitted to the computer in a similar way to a

conventional keyboard. The cursor should be set to the position where you want to have the characters

inserted, before starting a scan.

•  Make sure that the barcode to be read is clear. The barcode to be read should be fully visible and not

damaged.

•  The distance between the barcode and the reader is chosen depending on the size of the barcode. The

smaller the barcode, the closer the reader needs to be to the barcode.

Care and Cleaning

•  Disconnect the product from the mains supply before each cleaning procedure.
•

Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.

•  Never use abrasive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these could

damage the casing or even impair operation.

Disposal

Electronic devices are recyclable materials and do not belong in the household waste. Dispose

of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations. That way you

fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
