10. Maintenance
Regularly check the technical safety of the SD tuner, e.g. for damage of the cables or the casing.
If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be turned off and precau-
tions are to be taken to ensure that it is not used unintentionally. Disconnect the car power system!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• the device is visibly damaged
• if the device does not function for some reason, or
• following considerable stress during transportation
Before cleaning the SD tuner or performing maintenance, the following safety information must be obser-
ved:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or components are removed.
The device must be disconnected from all power sources before any servicing or repair work is
carried out.
Capacitors inside the device may still carry voltage even though they have been disconnected
from all power sources.
Only qualified experts familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations must per-
form repairs.
a) Fuse Replacement
If it becomes necessary to replace a fuse, make sure that only fuses of the prescribed type and nominal
current are used (see “Technical Data”).
Never repair fuses or bridge the fuse holder.
• When the power supply has been disconnected (disconnect ISO plug!) carefully remove the fuse from
the fuse holder next to the ISO plug.
• Replace it with a fuse of the same type.
• Only then can you reconnect the SD tuner to the electric on-board system and turn it on.
• Should the fuse trigger again, have the SD tuner repaired in a specialised workshop.
b) Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the device with a soft, dry cloth or brush only.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that may damage the surface of the ca-
sing.
