9. Discontinuing use
If the pump must be disconnected from the hose (for example, for cleaning, maintenance or winter storage), proceed
as follows:
•
Disconnect the pump from the mains voltage by pulling the mains plug out of the mains socket.
• Release the excess pressure in the hose system or pump and open the shut-off valves (if any).
• Unscrew the two drain caps and let the remaining water run out of the pump. Opening the filter cover can speed
up the process.
Do not forget to completely empty the hoses laid outdoors to avoid frost damage. Also open the shut-off
valves, if any.
We recommend to store the pump in a dry, frost-free place during winter. If the pump is permanently fixed
in place, it can remain outdoors if it is correctly emptied. In this case, a cumbersome disassembly (and
removal/connection of hoses) once a year is not necessary.
• Clean the filter as described in the next chapter.
• Replace the drain caps and screw them tight. Close the filter cover if you have not done this already.

If the pump requires transport, make sure there is still some water left in the pump after it has been emptied. When
storing the pump or transporting it in a vehicle, make sure you use a suitable underlay to protect the pump from
water stains or other damage.
