k) Speed measurement

Speed measurement will allow you to measure the time needed for a moving object to get from

one point to another. The product automatically calculates the speed by means of the covered

distance and time.

The product can only measure the speed of objects that move directly towards or away from you.

It cannot measure the speed of objects that move from left to right (or right to left) within your

field of view.

•  Press the M button, until the following appears:

+05°

– – – – km/h

X1

1005hPa 29°C SE132° IR:OFF

•

Briefly press the on/off button to start measuring. The target point display starts flashing.

•  Target a moving object for a few seconds. Shortly after that, the display will show the measured speed.

Settings

•  Press and hold the M button, until the “setup” indicator appears below the target point display.
•  Press the on/off button to adjust the unit or value.
•  Press the M button to switch to the next parameter. The following parameters are available for selection:

•  Press and hold the M button for approx. 2 seconds to exit the settings menu.

If you do not press any button for 30 seconds, the product will automatically switch to normal

viewing mode.

Button illumination

In order not to attract any unwanted attention during darkness, the buttons are not illuminated. It

is possible, though, to briefly activate button illumination for easier operation. Proceed as follows

to do so:

•  Tilt the product downwards by at least 45°.
•  Press any button. All buttons will be illuminated for a max. of 15 seconds.
•  If the tilting angle is less than 45°, the illumination of the buttons will deactivate even before the 15 seconds

have elapsed.

Hand strap

•  Guide the long strap with the soft side facing up through the two eyelets (5).
•  Flip over the hand padding in order for the side with the synthetic leather to face to the outside.
•  Open the hook-and-loop fastener of the hand padding.
•  Insert the long strap into the hand padding and then close the hook-and-loop fastener.

Tripod socket

•  There is a tripod thread located on the bottom of the product.
•  If needed, mount the product to a suitable tripod with a socket diameter of 6.35 mm (1/4”).

Tips and notes

•  Light refraction and sunlight can cause measuring errors during outdoor use.
•

Smog, dust, rain, and snow can reflect the laser beam, resulting in measuring errors.

•  When using the product outdoors, protect it from moisture and humidity.
•  The following surfaces can affect the measurement due to their physical characteristics:

 - Transparent surfaces (e.g. glass, water)
 -

Reflecting surfaces (e.g. glass, shiny metals)

 - Porous surfaces (e.g. insulating materials)
 - Structured surfaces (e.g. roughcast, natural stone)

Cleaning and care

•  Under no circumstances use aggressive cleanings agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions

since these can penetrate the housing or impair functionality.

•  Do not submerge the product in water to clean it.
•  Do not apply too much pressure to the lens to prevent scratching.
•  The product is maintenance-free except for potential battery replacement and occasional cleaning.
•  Use the provided cleaning cloth or a dust brush for cleaning the lenses. You can also use a soft, lint-free

cloth. A glasses cloth can also be used to clean the lenses. If necessary, you can moisten the cloth with

a little lukewarm water.

•  If cleaning the lenses with a cleaning cloth, make sure the cleaning agent does not drop directly onto the

lenses. Always apply the cleaning agent directly to the cloth first.

•  Clean the housing with a dry, clean, soft and lint-free cloth. To remove tougher stains, slightly dampen the

cloth with lukewarm water.

Disposal

a) Product

Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste.
