10. Operation
a) Setting the operating mode
The light effect device can be controlled with the built-in controller, the remote control or with an external
DMX signal.
The DMX signal has priority. As soon as on the XLR DMX IN input is present an appropriate signal,
the GM215 switches to the DMX, respectively SLAVE mode. If there is no DMX signal present on
the input, the GM215 changes back to the original selected mode (selection via the function keys
on the device rear panel or remote control).
Display and keys on the display rear panel:
• Press the MENU key to select the setting mode, respectively the operating mode.
• Press the ENTER key to switch to the submenu.
• Select the desired setting mode/operating mode with the key UP, respectively DOWN.
(1) MENU key:
Select the mode with the MENU key (Addr/AUtO/SOUN/vEr), respectively jump again in
the submenu, back to the next upper menu.
(2) UP key:
Changes upwards the displayed parameters
(3) DOWN key: Changes downwards the displayed parameters
(4) ENTER key:
Press the ENTER key to switch to the submenu.
(5) DMX LED:
The DMX LED flashes when a DMX signal is present on the DMX input.
(6) MASTER LED: Lights in automatic, SOUND, or COLOR mode
(7) SLAVE LED: Flashes when a SLAVE signal is present on the DMX input.
(8) SOUND LED: Lights as soon an audio signal is detected on the microphone input (SOUND mode).
The indication of the LED display turns automatically off after about 10 seconds after the last
entry. Press a key to turn the display on again.
All settings are saved automatically.
