Thermometer and hygrometer

The thermometer measures the temperature in degrees Celsius. The hygrometer

measures the percentage of moisture in the air. This value is “relative” because de-

pending on the temperature the air can hold various large amounts of moisture.

The thermometer and hygrometer displays come with factory preset set-

tings. To adjust the temperature and hygrometer you compare the numbers

with a correctly functioning reference instrument. Deviations on the pointer

can be corrected by gently turning the adjustment screw on the back.

Living environment

If the air in the room is too warm and too dry it is bad for your health, especially for your

skin and respiratory tract. The right temperature and humidity play a role in plants,

wood floors, antique furniture, musical instruments and books.
By controlling the indoor environment you feel more comfortable and save on heating

costs. The right temperature and humidity vary with use from room to room. The fol-

lowing guidelines are recommended:
Staircase

15 °C

at 40 - 60% humidity

Bedroom

16 - 18 °C

at 50 - 70 % humidity

Kitchen

18 - 20 °C

at 50 - 70 % humidity

Living room

20 - 22 °C

at 40 - 60 % humidity

Bathroom

23 °C

at 50 - 70 % humidity

Handling

•  First, allow the product to reach room temperature. This may potentially take several

hours.

•  The housing may not be opened!
•  Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation loca-

tion or during transportation:

  -  Dust or flammable gasses, fumes or solvents
  -  Strong vibrations
  -  Strong magnetic fields, as can be found near machines or loudspeakers

Cleaning

Only a soft, damp cloth may be used for cleaning the display and housing. Never use

solvent-based or abrasive cleaning agents. Do not use the device in or under water!

Assembly

Select an installation site which is not exposed to direct sunlight or, if indoors, to di-

rect heat (faulty temperature and humidity readings). The location for the installation

outdoors should also be sheltered from precipitation, in order to avoid biased results

when measuring. Do not use the meter in or under water, this will ruin it.

Installation is carried out as follows:

Drill a screw (not included) into the desired wall with the head of the screw protruding

about 5 mm from the wall. The screw head must be so large that it cannot slip through

the hole of the suspension eye. Hang the unit by the rear suspension eye carefully on

this screw.

A wall mount is only possible on vertical plane walls. Make sure that the

product is safely hanging on the screw before letting it go.
