in chapter 9. DMX 512 connection, a) Connecting a DMX controller
10. Mains connection
The mains socket to which the moving head is connected must be close to the device and easily
accessible so that the device can be quickly and easily removed from the mains supply in the
event of a fault.
Do not let the mains cable come into contact with other cables.
Be careful when handling mains cables and mains connections. Mains voltages can cause fatal
electric shocks.
Do not leave cables lying around freely; get an electrician to lay them properly in order to
prevent the risk of an accident.
Before connecting the device to the mains, ensure that the rated voltage on the moving head
matches the mains voltage. If it does not match with your mains voltage, do not connect the
device to the mains. Connecting the device to a mains supply with an incorrect voltage can
cause irreparable damage to the device and may endanger the user.
•
Insert the power adapter plug on the mains cable into the
POWER IN
socket (8) on the device.
•
Insert the mains plug into a grounded socket.
11. Operation
• Turn the moving head on/off using the power switch (10) on the back of the device ("ON"/ "OFF"
)
.
•
The moving head starts after being turned on. The controller software conducts a self-test upon start-up.
Wait until the test is complete. A welcome message will be displayed on the LCD display (5) when the
moving head is ready for use.
a)
General menu operation
The moving head can be controlled with the integrated controller or with an external DMX controller.
Additionally, it can be used in a master-slave setup, either as a master device with the integrated controller
to control other moving heads connected in a chain synchronously, or as a slave device controlled by the
controller on another moving head. The LCD display (5) and the
