Operation
Connect the consumer load to the mains socket (F).
Please consult the section “Technical Information” for the maximum permissible power
of the consumer load.
By using the respective “ON” or “OFF” button of the switching channel at the hand-held radio
transmitter, the radio controlled switch socket is turned on/off again with the same set switching
channel (control-LED (E) lights up or turns off).
Maintenance & Care
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be opened or dissembled for
any reason.
Remove connected consumer loads from the radio-controlled switch socket and remove it from
the mains socket, before cleaning the product.
Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or
chemical solutions since these could damage the surface of the casing or impair operation.
Handling
• The hand-held radio transmitter must not get damp or wet. However, the supplied
radio-controlled socket is suitable for outdoor use (IP44).
• Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation loca-
tion and during transportation:
- Direct sunlight
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gasses, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed.
Never dissemble the product! There are no serviceable parts inside.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
Discontinue product use if you detect damage!
There is danger to life through an electric shock!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible:
- the device is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer works
- if the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time
- if it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation
Range
The transmission range of the radio signals, between the hand-held radio transmitter and the
radio-controlled switch socket, is up to 30m under optimum conditions.
This value is the so-called “open space range” (the range the transmitter and receiver
are visible to each other, without disturbing influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, ceilings of rooms etc. between the
transmitter and the receiver, which reduce the range accordingly.
Due to the different influences on the wireless transmission, no specific range can be
guaranteed.
Nevertheless, trouble-free operation in a single-family home is usually possible.
Sometimes the range can be considerably reduced due to:
• Walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated/metallised insulated glass
• Proximity to metallic & conductive objects (e.g., heating elements)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-con-
trolled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby phones
etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• Proximity to badly shielded or uncovered computers in use or other electrical appliances
Disposal
a) General
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, in accordance with the cur-
rent statutory requirements.
b) Normal and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/recharge-
able batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with this symbol to indi-
cate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy
metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries as well as coin cells can be returned free of charge to
collection points in your municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries/
coin cells are sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment!

conforms with the fundamental requirements and the other relevant regulations of the directive
1999/5/EC.
