Specification
•
Normal playback is not guaranteed when a cable other than the USB compatible cable is
used. Connecting a cable whose total length is longer than 1.5M can result in abnormal
playback.
•
When using a USB card reader, be sure to put a memory device into the reader before
connecting it to the USB receiver.
•
Normal operation and power supply are not guaranteed for some USB devices.
Compatible file formats:
•
MPEG1, MPEG2 layer 3 (MP3)
•
Wav: uncompressed PCM formats
•
WMA: except DRM
•
OGG vorbis: up to 320 kbit/s
Files that are not in these formats will not operate.
Troubleshooting
You cannot switch your radio to CD changer mode:

Check cables to make sure everything is tight.

Reset your iPod by first turning off, push and hold the Play button on the device. Press again the
Play button for few seconds to turn on the iPod.

Consult with your installer or contact your local Renault support centre.
You cannot control the iPod from the radio:
3. Make sure the firmware on your iPod is the most recent. For updates please visit
www.apple.com/ipod.
4. Reset the iPod. On the click-wheel of the iPod, push and hold the centre button and the Menu
buttons simultaneously. On the 3rd generation models, push and hold the Menu and Play/Pause
buttons until iPod reboots. (Resetting will not erase your music, it will only restart the operating
system).
iPod does not turn on:

Verify that the iPod’s battery is not depleted.
5. Turn off both your car stereo, and the iPod before inserting the cable to the interface. Power on
your radio and select the CD changer source.

When both iPod and AUX IN are connected, AUX IN has priority.To select iPod, disconnect AUX
IN. Warning, if the AUX IN extension remains connected, the iPod will remain paused.
iPod battery does not charge:

Check all connections.

Make sure that charge control function is not turned off (see Setup section).

Connect the iPod to a computer to see if it will charge from there.

generation iPods cannot be charged by Audio Connection Box.
iPod does not respond after disconnection:
The radio may have been turned off when disconnecting. Wait 5-10 seconds or reset the iPod.
iPod goes to iPod menu after connection:
The iPod was not in play mode before connection. Start playing.
Playlist cannot be selected:
There is no playlist on the iPod or playlist is empty.
Only 5 iPod playlist number can be displayed:
The 6th or higher playlists can be selected from the iPod menu but the CD number can go only
to 5 on the radio display.
USB stops reading:

USB.
4. Re-connect
USB.
USB does not read file:
Check file is legal and not corrupt (this can be done on a computer).
Interface does not read USB:
Fit USB and wait for 1 minute. (some USB sticks take a long time to initialise).
’NO CD’ message shows on the radio display after USB connection:
With iPod shuffle and slow USB devices the initalization can be much longer than usually.
