6. Wear a helmet or other headgear that covers the hair, safety glasses, ear
protectors, and protective clothing. The operator should not wear a scarf, tie,
loose clothing (tight fitting clothing recommended), and gloves intended for other
work (e.g. leather welding).
7. Damaged or illegible stickers must be replaced.
Safety notes for internal combustion engine and refueling
1. The cylinder and engine become very hot during operation. Do not touch the
hot muffler or cylinder as there is a risk of burns. Even after switching off,
these elements remain hot for some time.
2. Do not run the engine in enclosed spaces, because the exhaust fumes contain
toxic substances like carbon monoxide.
3. Fuel and its vapors are highly flammable. Before and during refueling, observe
the following guidelines:
• The engine must be cold before refueling. Wait a minimum of
3 minutes before refueling,
• Use only approved canisters,
• Never refuel inside the room,
• Never refuel near a fire (also do not smoke),
• Never refuel while the engine is running or while moving the machine,
• If refueled fuel spills, do not start the engine, move the device to a different
location and wait for the spilled fuel to completely evaporate from the device
and the spill before starting up,
• After refueling, tighten the fuel filler cap each time and securely,
• The wood chipper and fuel canisters must be stored outside open flame
sources,
