The chain block must not be used when it fails any of the above checks.

Safe working practice.

The product can be used safely once all the “

Checks to be carried 

out before use

” section and the following points have been 

checked.

1. 

Check that the end of the load chain (without the hook) has
been mounted correctly.

2. 

Check that the top and bottom hooks, side housings and
load chain are secure.

3. 

Check the chain block for visual damage.

4. 

Check that all nuts and bolts are fitted and tight.

5. 

Check the load chain for damage, deformation and rust.

6. 

Check that the hand chain moves smoothly and that the
clicking of the ratchet can be heard when pulling on the 
chain.

Hook wear.

Overloading and/or the incorrect use of the chain block can 
widen the hook opening. When the hook opening is

 then the deformation or wear of the hook is too 

great and the hook must be replaced immediately.
