5)

MULCHER/SHREDDER HOPPER

(See Figure 1)

As the engine ignition begins, the engine shaft

operates freely until approximately 1600 rpm at

which speed the centrifugal clutch engages and

begins driving the rotor. Proper rotor rpm is 2900

rpm with a plus or minus tolerance of 100 rpm.

In this condition you have four rows of hammers

literally cutting or beating material until it reaches

such fractinal size as, to allow it to pass through

the grinding screen. The grinding screen retains

the material within the grinding chamber for

several seconds until the free-swinging hammers

have rotated several times. The number of cuts

by the hammers and, of course, retention time

within the chamber varies with each type of

organic material.

6)

CHIPPER HOPPER

(See Figure 1) Branches

are fed into the side hoppper for chipping. One

at a time if they are thicker than 50mm, several

together if of small diameter. The throat opening

is approximately 80mm (3

1

2

”) square, side chutes

or side branches may have to be trimed from the

main stalk before the chipping process occurs.

Short stubs of branches may be pushed through

the chipper section with the next branch. Never

assume to know the location of the blades and

try to process short branches by hand.

BE

SAFE, KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM THE

CHIPPING BLADE AND ROTATING HAMMERS

.

7)

CAUTION:

IF MULCHER/SHREDDER

CHUTE CLOGGS WITH MATERIAL,

STOP THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY TO

PREVENT CLUTCH DAMAGE.

8)    Do not allow an accumulation of processed material

to build up under the discharge of the shredder as this

may prevent shredded material to discharge and will

result in clogging. Operate the machine at maximum

rpm’s (fast position).

9)

NEVER ALLOW YOUR HANDS OR ANY PART

OF YOUR BODY OR CLOTHING INSIDE THE

MULCHER/SHREDDER/HOPPER OR

CHIPPER CHUTE OR DISCHARGE AREA OF THE

MULCHER/SHREDDER

10)

Always stand clear of the discharge area when the

shredder is running. Never reach into this area.

(See Figure 1).

11)

Keep your face and body back from the feed

hopper to avoid being struck by any material that

may bounce back. Do no over-reach, keep proper

balance and footing.

12)

Stop Engine

: Do not move choke control to CHOKE

position to stop engine. Backfire or engine damage

may occur, Move throttle control to SLOW postition,

then push rocker switch to 0 (STOP).

Open fuel shut-off valve. Move choke

control to CHOKE or START position.

Note: Choke must fully close. Move throttle

controlto RUN or FAST

position. If engine is

equipped with rocker style stop switch, push

RUN or I (I = Ignition)

before starting. Rewind

Starter: Grasp rope

handle and pull slowly

until resistance is felt

to prevent kickback.

Then pull cord rapidly

to overcome compression, and start engine.

Repeat if necessary with choke off and throttle

control at maximum rpm (FAST position). Operate

the engine at maximum rpm (FAST position).

6) Push the stump grinder to the stump,

position the grinding disc over the front edge
of the stump.

7) Set the wheel brake on the right hand side of

the stump grinder and adjust the handle
position to achieve better leverage
depending on the height of the stump.

8) Use the throttle to gradually bring the engine

RPM s up to full while lifting the grinding
disc off the ground.

9) Slowly lower the stump grinder until the

grinding disc comes in contact with the
stump. Move the stump grinder back and
forth in a slow sweeping motion.
Maintain the same elevation until a section
has been removed, then lower the stump
grinder to take out the next section.
NOTE: Constant build up of grinding debris
may inhibit the stump grinder from
performing effectively. To help assure safe,
effective and efficient working results, keep
the working area raked level and free of
grinding debris.

 ALWAYS USE A RAKE.

NOTE: Make sure grinding disc has
stopped completely before clearing debris

10) When the front part of the stump has been

removed, release the brake and push the stump
grinder forward to a new edge.
NOTE: For better performance and to avoid
excessive clutch wear, run the engine at full
throttle during operation.

WARNING!

– Keep hands and feet

clear of the Grinding Disc and grinding
zone and other moving parts while

engine is running.

WARNING!

– In case of difficulty, release

the Operator Presence Control Bar. This

action will stop the engine. See figure 1.

11) After stump has been removed use the throttle to

gradually bring down the engine RPM s. Make sure
the grinding disc has come to a complete stop
before moving the stump grinder.

12) Stop Engine: Do not

move choke control to
CHOKE position to stop
engine. Backfire or
engine damage may occur. Move throttle control
