SETUP AND OPERATION
This chapter outlines connection of the RED Rocket Breakout Box to the RED Rocket board. The installa-
tion is performed in several steps:
1.
Downloading firmware.
2.
Setting up and connecting the RED Rocket Breakout Box to the RED Rocket board.
3.
Installing firmware.
4.
Basic operation of the RED Rocket Breakout Box.
3.1 FIRMWARE DOWNLOAD
This procedure outlines downloading the RED Rocket Breakout Box firmware.
1.
Go t2.
Download the RED Rocket Installer to your desktop. The firmware and installation instructions for
the RED Rocket Breakout Box are located inside the downloaded package.
3.
After downloading, you will see the new compressed (zipped) folder.
4.
Open the zipped folder and extract the operating system specific folder (Windows or Mac) to the
desktop for the firmware.
NOTE: On some Mac machines, when the file is downloaded, it will automatically be unzipped in
your download folder.
NOTE: The firmware must be upgraded before using the RED Rocket Breakout Box.
5.
Shut down the computer.
6.
Go to 3.2 SETUP OF RED ROCKET BREAKOUT BOX to install connect the RED Rocket Breakout
Box to the computer.
3.2 SETUP OF RED ROCKET BREAKOUT BOX
To set up the RED Rocket Breakout Box perform the following:
1.
Place the RED Rocket Breakout Box on a firm, flat surface or install in a 19" rack-shelf near the
computer with the RED Rocket board installed.
