3.2
System description
The system with single passage function consists of three or four turnstiles.
It has a microprocessor-controlled drive system which can be used in several operating modes.
The operating modes are selected via the corresponding operating unit BDE-D-KTA.
Safety sensors prevent a dangerous rotational movement and slow down or stop the turnstile in time.
The corresponding operating status or system error is shown on the display of the BDE-D-KTA con-
trol unit.

Description of the single passage function
3.3.1
Unauthorized passage (tailgating / piggybacking)
If an unauthorized person attempts to use the system during the rotation, this will be detected. The
detection is carried out with medium security via the built-in ceiling sensor system or floor contact mat
and with high security via 3D camera.
Both optical indicators are switched to RED. The turnstile turns backwards at crawl speed and forces
the persons inside the Interlock out of the door.
The authorized person now operates the internal release button or the access control system again.
The system control receives an enable pulse and operates as described above.
The system can detect and prevent,
Tailgating
(passage of a second person in the following seg-
ment) with medium and high security.
An agreed common passage of several persons in the same segment, so-called
Piggybacking,
is
only reliably detected in the high security version (3D camera).
Tailgating (Mid-, High-Security)
Tailgating is the attempt to gain access by following an authorized person without their consent.
