Subwoofer combinations
All passive subwoofers with minimum impedance of 2 ohms can be driven. The A-409 has
exeptionally strong deep bass power and must be adjusted to the power rating of the subwoofer.
Subwoofer connection with these steps
1. POWER at OFF, all knobs far left, HIGH CUT far right
2. LOW INPUT connect as sketches A to G. B is useful if the Subwoofer input
signal is too low. C is requested if SAT OUT = Satellite output signal is needed. At F and
G the level is only adjustable at A-409.
H and J show the connection to a separate amplifier for satellite speakers.

3. If RCA connection is not possible connect as sketch K.
4. SUBWOOFER OUTPUT connect to subwoofer speaker as sketches L = total impedance
2 - 8 ohms, M = total impedance 4 - 8 ohms, N = total impedance = 2 - 4 ohms. The amplifier
delivers the highest power at 2 ohms. The sound and overload safety are the best at 8 ohms.
