Section 7: Installing the Base in Your
Vehicle
LATCH Installation
If your vehicle has lower anchors, the LATCH connector system can
be used. Check your vehicle owner’s manual to determine if lower
anchors are available and for available vehicle seating positions. If
lower anchors are not available the vehicle seat belt must be used.

1. Remove the LATCH
connectors from the storage
pockets located on the back
of the base by pushing on
the red release button.
2. Lengthen the LATCH strap
by pressing the LATCH
adjuster release button and
pulling the webbing to full
length.

3. Position the base on the
forward-facing vehicle seat
with the belt path against the
back of the vehicle seat.
4. Make sure the arrows molded
on the LATCH connectors are
pointing in the correct direction.
Attach the connectors to the
anchors in the vehicle. Pull the
LATCH connectors to ensure
they are secured to the vehicle.
5. While pressing the base into
the seat near the belt path, pull
the loop on the LATCH strap to
tighten.
The base is secure when it
cannot be moved more than
1
inch (2.5 cm)
in any direction
at the belt path
.
6. Excess belt webbing should
be stored away from the seat/
base connection.
