7 Status
The following status displays appear.
• REC appears during recording.

66 appears during fast forwarding,
and
55 appears during rewinding.

• A/V DUB appears during
audio/video dubbing.

Time Counter With Memory Stop
• The counter shows the amount of
elapsed recording or playback time.
• Press DISPLAY on the remote to
turn memory stop on or off. An M
appears with the time counter when
memory stop is turned on.
Note: During playback or play pause,
you can press DISPLAY on the cam-
corder to turn memory stop on and off.

9 Time Remaining
•
displays the amount of
recording or playback time left on
the cassette in the camcorder.
• Details are on page 24.
10 Battery Level Indicator
• This indicator shows the amount of
time left for the rechargeable
battery (or alkaline “AA”
batteries).
• Details are on page 17.
11 TAPE, NO TAPE, and TAPE END
• TAPE flashes when you try to
record and the safety tab has been
closed.
• TAPE flashes when a tape is
inserted in the camcorder and
moisture is present or the tape is
damaged. Moisture may develop
when the camcorder is moved from
a cold area to a warm area.
Remove the tape and wait an hour
before reinserting. If the tape is
damaged, remove the tape and
replace it.
• NO TAPE flashes when you try to
record and there is no cassette in
the camcorder.
• TAPE END flashes when there is
approximately three minutes of
recording time left on the cassette.
• TAPE END appears briefly during
recording when the end of the
cassette is reached.
12 Time and Date
Press DATE/TITLE repeatedly to
display the time and date, auto date,
auto title, or date only when the
camcorder is in record or record
pause.
• These displays will be recorded on
the tape whenever they appear in
the viewfinder.
