Troubleshooting
Most problems you encounter with your TV can be corrected by consulting the troubleshooting list that follows.
TV Problems
TV won’t turn on
•
Press the ON•OFF button on the r
emote contr
ol or the POWER button on the fr
ont of the TV .
•
Make sur e the TV is plugged in.
•
Check the wall r
eceptacle (or extension cor
d) to make sur
e it is “live” by plugging in something else.
•
Something might be wr
ong with your r
emote contr
ol. Pr ess the POWER button on the fr
ont of the TV . If the TV tur ns
on, check the r
emote contr
ol solutions on the next page.
•
Make sur e the r emote is pointed dir
ectly at the r
emote sensor on the TV’
s fr ont panel.
•
The fr ont panel buttons may be locked (disabled). Use the r
emote contr
ol to unlock the fr
ont panel contr
ols by
selecting
LOCK
in the
OTHER RESOURCES
menu, entering your password (the default password is “7685”), then
unchecking the box next to
PANEL
in the
LOCK
menu.
Front panel buttons don’t work
•
The fr ont panel buttons may be locked (disabled). Use the r
emote contr
ol to unlock the fr
ont panel contr
ols by
selecting
LOCK
in the
OTHER RESOURCES
menu, entering your password (the default password is “7685”), then
unchecking the box next to
PANEL
in the
LOCK
menu.
•
Unplug the TV for 15 minutes and then plug it back in. T
ur n the TV on and tr
y again.
TV turns off while playing
•
The
SLEEP
function may have been activated.
•
If the TV r emains inactive for five minutes after being tur
ned on by the
WAKE UP
function, it will automatically tur
n
of f.
•
The electr onic pr otection cir
cuit may have been activated because of a power sur
ge. W ait 30 seconds and then tur
n
the TV on again. If this happens fr
equently , the voltage in your house may be abnor
mally high or low
.
TV turns on unexpectedly
•
The
WAKE UP
function may have been activated. Go to page 23 for instr
uctions.
Blank screen
•
Make sur e the component connected to the TV is tur
ned on.
•
Try another channel.
•
Make sur e you have the signal sour
ce you want selected (TV
, AV1, A V2 or A V3).
No sound, picture okay
•
Maybe the sound is muted. Pr
ess the volume up button to r
estor e sound.
•
Make sur e all audio cables ar
e fir mly connected.
Can’t select certain channel
•
Channel may be locked out in the
LOCK/UNLOCK
menu.
•
Channel may not be in the channel memor
y. Try using the number buttons on the r
emote.
•
If using a VCR, make sur
e the TV/VCR button on the VCR is in the cor
rect mode (pr
ess the TV/VCR button on your
VCR).
