TEMpERATURE cOMpENSATION

A sensor adjusts the charging voltage if the temperature

deviates from –20°C to +45°C. A high tempe rature decreas-

es the voltage and a low temperature increases the voltage.

VOLTAGE cOMpENSATION

due to the voltage drop in the cables, the actual voltage at

the battery clamps may be lower than the charger output

voltage. Special circuitry inside the unit monitors the true

input voltage to the battery and adjusts the output voltage

of the unit accordingly. This maximizes charging efficiency.

REVERSE-pOLARITy pROTEcTION

This unit has a reverse-polarity protection function. If the

clamps are connected in reverse, the REd “ERROR” LEd

will illuminate and the charging process will not start. If this

happens, unplug immediately from the mains, connect the

red crocodile clip to the positive (+) battery post, and the

black crocodile clip to the negative (-) post, then plug into

the mains power and the charging process will start.

SHORT-cIRcUIT pROTEcTION

Should you accidentally touch the crocodile clips together

whilst the mains power is on, the unit will not start charging.

Unplug from the mains, disconnect and start the process

again, being careful not to touch the clips together.

cHARGER MEMORy

In the event of a black-out or loss of AC power, the charger

will automatically memorize the charging state. When AC

power is restored, charging will continue in the previous

charging state.

ATTENTION!

once the charger clamp is disconnected from the battery,

this memory will be erased and charging will restart from

the first charging state.

OTHER fEATURES

* Anti-spark protection

* Battery and charger overheating protection

* Waterproof ABS housing.

* Ingress Protection Rating IP65

OpERATION – pLEASE READ cAREfULLy BEfORE USE

Suitable for 6/12 V normal lead acid, sealed, leisure,

gel or AgM  batteries between 5-120 Ah.

1.  pREpARING THE BATTERy

Firstly remove the caps from each cell and check that the

level of liquid is sufficient in each cell. If it is below the

recommended level, top up with de-ionized or distilled water.

NOTE

Under no circumstances should tap water be used. The cell caps

should not be replaced until charging is complete. This allows

any gases formed during charging to escape. It is inevitable that

some minor escape of acid will occur during charging. These

checks are not required for permanently sealed batteries.

2. cONNEcTION

Connect the positive charging lead (red) to the positive

terminal post of the battery (marked P or +). Connect the

negative charging lead (black) to the negative terminal post

of the battery (marked N or -). It is important to ensure that

both dC clamps make good contact with their respective

terminal posts.

Once you connected the battery charger to AC power, it

will sound a tone for 0.5 seconds and all of the LEds on

the touch panel will be on for a short time.

WARNINg!

Always disconnect the AC plug from the AC mains socket before

connecting or disconnecting the appliance to or from the battery.
