2. If a fairing is used, thread the transducer cable through it.
3. Apply a 1/16" (2 mm) thick layer of marine sealant over the surface of the
transducer that contacts the fairing (or hull if no fairing is used) and up the
stem, ¼" (6 mm) higher than the combined thickness of the fairing, hull,
backing block and hull nut.
4. Slide the fairing (if used) onto the stem and mate the button on the fairing
with the recess in the transducer (see Figure 2-13 and Figure 2-17).
5. Apply a 1/16" (2 mm) thick layer of marine sealant to the side of the fairing
that contacts the hull (see Figure 2-16).
