3.10.2 Function of the safety equipment
The safety equipment is designed to protect your health and life.
Only operate the machine when the safety equipment is functional.
Do not use the rejection and safety equipment as a climbing aid. It is not de-
signed for this. There is a risk of falling.

Name
Function
Protective grid in hopper
Prevents body parts from being caught by the rotat-
ing agitator.
Prevents body parts from being cut off by the me-
tering sliders.
Prevents faults during spreading caused by lumps
in the spreading material, large stones or other
large objects (screening effect).
Protective grid lock
Prevents the inadvertent opening of the protective
grid in the hopper. Engages mechanically if protec-
tive grid is closed properly and can only be un-
locked with a tool.
Rejection and safety equip-
ment
The rejection and safety equipment prevents the
fertiliser from being ejected towards the front (in the
direction of the tractor/workstation).
The rejection and safety equipment prevents get-
ting caught by the rotating spreading discs from be-
hind, from the side, and from the front.
Drive shaft guard
Prevents body parts from being pulled into the ro-
tating drive shaft.
