SETTING UP THE MACHINE

TROUBLESHOOTING

FAULT

REASON

REMEDY

Not doing a tidy finish on

pasture

Coulters/skeiths are out

of line with the legs

Alter coulters/skeiths to

ensure they cut in the

same line as the leg

Machine won’t penetrate

the ground

Top link too long

Shorten top link length

Machine won’t stay in the

ground

2 point linkage arms are

too low on the machine

Lift 2 point linkage arms

up to next hole on

machine

Using and setting up the machine

1.

Ensure machine is level.

2.

Ensure coulters/skeiths (if fitted) are the correct height and line up with the

legs.

3.

Ensure 2 point linkage arms are level when in operating position.

4.

Adjust the turnbuckles on the roller or crumbler (if fitted) to a length that

gives the desired depth. If the skieths are now too low (more than 3.5

inches of penetration into the ground) these need to be adjusted upwards.

5.

Do not turn sharply when operating, damage to the skieths will occur.

6.

Do not exceed 12km/h when using machine in the ground. Optimum

speed is between 4-7km/h depending on ground conditions.

7.

Be aware of your surroundings, know the lay of your irrigation pipes to

prevent them being pulled up when subsoiling!
