– Disengage the PTO whenever you stop or leave
the operator’s position
– Shut off engine with the key before making
adjustments or unplugging a clogged mower.
– Do not engage the PTO until ready to start
mowing.
– Cutterdeck will automatically shut off if the engine
overheats. If this happens, check for clogged
radiator or radiator screen, low coolant, etc.
Correct the problem and then reengage
cutterdeck as described above.
COOLANT TEMPERATURE (G) -
Indicates
engine coolant temperature in
F
° on liquid cooled
models only.
NOTE:
At an indicated 230°F, safety interlock will
disengage cutterdeck. Also make sure engine
coolant
temperature gauge light flashes upon turning key to
the "ON" position.
To reengage cutterdeck:
1. Allow engine coolant temperature to drop below
230°F.
2. Turn PTO switch to the off position.
3. Then turn PTO switch on to reengage
cutterdeck.
INDICATOR LIGHT CLUSTER (L)
CRANK CASE OIL -
Indicates low or no oil pressure
in the crank case.
BATTERY -
Indicates charging system is not
working.
NOTE:
Lights should go out after engines starts.
KEY SWITCH (K)
-
The key switch has four
positions: "GLOW", “OFF”, “RUN”, and “START”.
During cold ambient temperature (Below 32°F) first
turn the key counterclockwise to activate glow plugs.
Hold for 10-20 seconds. Then turn key clockwise
and start engine as during warm weather. Insert the
key and turn it clockwise to move the switch from
OFF to RUN. Turn it further to START and hold to
engage the starter. Release the key and the switch
will return to RUN from START. Turn the key
counterclockwise to OFF to stop the engine.
THROTTLE (T)
-
Move the throttle lever forward
to increase engine speed until the maximum
governed engine RPM is reached. Move the lever
rearward to decrease engine speed until the engine
reaches its idle speed.
POWER TAKE OFF (PTO) SWITCH
(P)
-
The operator must be in the seat when engaging the
PTO or the engine will kill. Pulling the PTO switch
out engages (turns on) the PTO and starts the
blades or other attachment. Pushing the PTO switch
in disengages (turns off) the PTO and stops the
blades or other attachment. Note: The PTO switch
does not control attachments powered by a separate
engine.
