7.7 GENERAL SWEEPING
For general sweeping of litter:
Adjust the throttle according to how heavy/dense debris is, i.e. for heavily littered or bulkier pieces of debris, increase
the throttle, which will increase the vacuum strength.
Large pieces of cardboard, stones and bricks, whole glass bottles are not suitable for sweeping, hand pick and place in
back hopper for dumping later.
NOTE: As with all sweeping machines, avoid sweeping strapping, wrapping or long pieces of wire and string,
as these may become entangled around the side brushes. Remove these manually from the path of the ma-
chine and place in back hopper.
Before starting sweeping always ensure hopper is in fully upright position, and hopper door is securely shut and sealed.
DO NOT STAND ON SIDE BROOM ASSEMBLY OR USE AS A STEP !!
The vacuum head is located under the driver’s cab enclosed by the rubber skirts, which form the sides of the broom
chamber.
The vacuum head on the Pathfinder is fully floating and once lowered will be at the correct sweeping height to travel
over NORMAL uneven surfaces without having to be raised.
However to ensure no damage to the under carriage, ALWAYS RAISE THE VACUUM HEAD WHEN CLIMBING OR
DESCENDING KERBS, and always raise the vacuum head when travelling between sweeping locations or machine is
stationary for ANY length of time.
