7 OPERATION

OPERATION OF THE MACHINE __________________________________________
Read the Safety Instructions.
HOW TO START THE ENGINE FOR THE FIRST TIME
•
Remove the sump filler cap and with the machine on level ground. Make sure that the sump is filled with
oil. If necessary, fill the sump to the top of the filler hole threads with a recommended engine oil.
•
Fill the petrol tank with clean lead free petrol.
•
Lubricate the machine (See section 10)

HOW TO START THE ENGINE ___________________________________________
1.
Make sure that the cylinder clutch is disengaged.
2.
Turn fuel tap to 'ON' position.
3.
Make sure that the Parking Brake is engaged.
4.
Move the choke lever to the START position.
5.
Set the ignition cutout switch to the ‘ON’ position.
6.
Pull the rope operated recoil starter Allow the rope to return slowly before you release the handle.
7.
Move the choke lever to the RUNNING position.
7.6 TO STOP THE ENGINE _________________________________________________
1.
Disengage the OPC System, disengage the cylinder clutch and set the ignition cutout switch to the ‘OFF’
position

GOOD OPERATION ____________________________________________________
Keep the machine clean, to prevent the cut grass from dropping on to the turf.
Make sure that the concave is set to deliver the grass clippings into the grass box.
When you empty the grass box, clear any grass on the front roll.
Keep the space between the rear roll, top deck and concave clean.
When the machine is not in operation, do not let the cutting cylinder run. Damage to the grass will occur.
IMPORTANT
When the machine is not in operation, turn the fuel tap to the 'OFF' position.
DO NOT allow the engine to idle.
